Scott Moller

Scott Moller graduated from Chadron State College in 1983 and received his CPA certification in 1984. Upon graduation, Scott moved to Alliance to work with retiring CPA, Howard Curtiss, before establishing Kiefer and Moller, P.C. in 1986. Later, Scott formed JM & Associates, P.C. with partner Zach Jelinek in 2017.

Scott specializes in tax consultation, year-end tax planning, business formation, business acquisition and disposition, and estate planning. With over 35 years of experience, Scott’s clients know they can trust and rely on the quality of his work.

He is an active member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and is on the LB840 Board for the City of Alliance. Scott’s wife, Tinka, also works at JM & Associates, P.C., and together, they have four daughters. Scott enjoys attending Nebraska Cornhusker football games and spending time at Angostura, South Dakota where he can fish and relax on the water.

Zach Jelinek

Zach Jelinek graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2011 with a Master of Professional Accountancy and received his CPA certification in 2012. Zach worked for HSMC Orizon, LLC in Omaha, Nebraska for two years before joining Scott A Moller, P.C. in October of 2013. In January of 2017, Zach became a partner to establish JM & Associates, P.C.

Zach has over ten years of accounting experience and specializes in tax consultation, income tax planning and compliance work, and assists small business owners grow their operations.

He serves on the Carnegie Arts Foundation and is a 5th generation farmer. Zach likes to spend time with his wife Megan, son Dawson, daughter Lily, family, and friends when he is not working at the office. Zach is an avid hunter and outdoorsman who travels regularly to Nebraska Cornhusker and Denver Broncos football games. He takes great pride in calling Alliance, Nebraska his hometown and is glad to serve his friends and neighbors.

Payroll Accountant

Kristal Engelhaupt

Kristal Engelhaupt joined JM & Associates, P.C. in 2010. She graduated from Western Nebraska Community College with an Associate of Arts in business administration in 2011 and received her Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Chadron State College in 2017.

Kristal has extensive experience in client payroll, bookkeeping, e-filing, and processing. Helping clients understand the finer points of payroll processing and ever-changing laws has been her focus and priority for over nine years.

Born and raised in Alliance, Kristal enjoys spending time with her family. Together with her husband and son, they enjoy fishing and taking their 1978 Ford F150 to car shows.

Accountant

Karen Johnson

Karen Johnson graduated from Chadron State College in 1988 with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting and received her CPA certification in 1990. In 1972, Karen began a life long career in accounting beginning with the firm of Crum, Melick & McAndrew, becoming partners with Jim McAndrew in 1994 and founding the firm of Johnson & Associates in 2001.  In 2020, Karen joined forces with the firm of JM & Associates, P.C., beginning a transition to retirement.

Karen has over forty-nine years of accounting experience and specializes in income tax preparation, income tax planning, tax consultation, estate planning and administration, assisting small business owners and farmers in their operations, and compliance work.

Karen has served on numerous local boards and assisted numerous non-profits over the years, and is an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  Karen and her husband Jerry love to travel and golf and have traveled all over the world, vacationing and seeing children and grandchildren.

Karen loves the Alliance Box Butte County area and serving her many friends and neighbors in the accounting profession.

Bookkeeping

Taylor Omar

Tinka Taylor Omar attended school at the University of Nebraska Omaha Business College before transferring to Chadron State College to complete her degree in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting.  She moved from Omaha and joined JM & Associates, P.C. in 2020.  Taylor is working towards becoming an Enrolled Agent.

While in Omaha, Taylor worked at Greater Omaha Packing Co. for two years, gaining experience in payroll and human resources.  She then went on to work for Eastern Nebraska Human Services Agency for four years as office manager for Alpha School.  As office manager, Taylor did bookkeeping, prepared contracts, and helped with budget planning.  Since joining JM & Associates, she has gained knowledge in tax preparation and bookkeeping.

Taylor likes to spend time with her husband Brett, son Oliver, daughter Theadora, family, and friends.  She also enjoys traveling, relaxing at Lake Angostura, hiking in Estes Park, attending concerts, Husker football and volleyball, Cubs Baseball, and cooking.  Taylor is happy to be back in her hometown of Alliance and looks forward to giving quality service to the community.

Tinka Becker Moller

Tinka Becker Moller attended Chadron State College majoring in Business Administration.  In 1984, she went to work at Curtiss & Bartels, CPAs as a receptionist.  It was here she met her husband, Scott Moller, and they have been working together ever since.  In 1986, Tinka was involved in starting and establishing the foundation of what began as Kiefer & Moller, P.C. to what it is now as JM & Associates, P.C.

Tinka has worked alongside Scott for 37 years to help build and grow the firm into what it is today.  She has been instrumental in developing processes and procedures for day-to-day operations.  Tinka has extensive knowledge in accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, 1099 processing, along with many other office tasks.

Tinka enjoys traveling with Scott, spending time with their 4 daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren, relaxing at Lake Angostura in South Dakota and going out to her family ranch in the sandhills where she is a 4^th generation owner.  Tinka loves Husker football and volleyball, vacationing with family and cooking.  She is a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and has served on many boards and committees at St. Agnes Academy.  Tinka looks forward to helping her peers give quality service to clients as well as the community.
